Thrilled By The New Tiguan

Thrilled By The New Tiguan

Author: Tomas Yoko

The brand new Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line was mine, all mine and I was in the mood to take advantage of the rugged 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.

Built on the MQB, or Modularer Querbaukasten (Modular Transverse Matrix) platform, the new Tiguan enjoys all of Volkswagen's latest technology, including the new 4MOTION Active Control system.

From the moment I took up the position of control in the driver's seat, I was impressed. The cabin was awash with light teeming in through the panoramic sunroof and the instrument cluster and digital interface blinked at me with anticipation.

Taking the Tiguan off road into some very soft sand really showed how the Tiguan can rise to some serious challenges. The acceleration was smooth with power transfer and gear changes even smoother. Negotiating some rough farm roads was a piece of pie for the new Tiguan.

Everything about the new Tiguan was exceptional. The 400 watt DYNAUDIO Excite Surround system sound system produced exceptional sound quality and the media interface connected with my smart phone with total ease.

After driving off road in total comfort I took to the highway and put the Tiguan to the test of the N2. Versatility and practicality are key attributes of the Tiguan and the new model takes these elements to a new level.

Safety is aways very high on the agenda for Volkswagen, the Tiguan provides airbags for the driver and passenger, as well as an airbag curtain system with front seat side impact airbags.

During the emergency braking test the hazard lights came on automatically, and Electronic Stability Control made me look like a professional driver. Other safety features include XDS transverse differential lock and fatigue detection (Rest Assist) as standard items. No surprises then that the new Tiguan received a five star rating from Euro NCAP.

If you are looking for a Tiguan, then Ballito Volkswagen has stock, yes they have stock available now, so call them right away on 031 - 003 4000.
