Governmenton course to create a better life for all

Date: 2014-10-17
KwaDukuza municipality is adding more chapters to the Good Story South Africa has been able to tell since 1994.

This was yesterday, 13 October 2014, underlined by Ward 3 Councillor, GJ Van Whye at a"Ribbon Cutting Event" which marked the official opening of theNyathikaziCreche as South Africa celebrates the Social Development Month under the theme "Building Stronger Families to Promote Healthy Family Life and Fight Poverty.

Van Whye said the occasion was an addition to the narrative that South Africa is a better place than it was twenty years ago.

"We have come to augment the themeof our Government's Programme of Action: "Together We Move South Africa Forward" and we are indeed on course to create a better quality of life for all, including our children.

It is common cause that there can be no stronger and healthy families without happy children living fulfilling lives. This Early Childhood Development Centre not only does it provide for their intellectual, psychological and emotional needs, it also provides a safe haven for our children where they interact with one another in an environment filled with joy. It is at this Centre where their future adult life is crafted. It is also commoncausethat education is a dependable instrument to fight poverty and build a prosperous nation.

He said the month of October is important in the National Calendar as the country hosted the Children's Parliament on 9thof October.

"This is a joint initiative of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and the Department of Social Development which creates a platform for our children to participate in democracy and provides an opportunity for them to input into the policies, programmes and strategies intended to realise their rights. As a nation we consider education a basic human right in relation to our children.

DCLM Chairman from France, Mr. Mallart who embarked on a world tour, hailed cooperation between DCLM, KwaDukuza Municipality and the Non-profit organization, Ukuphakamisa as a development that would bring prosperity to the community of Nyathikazi.

"I have been traveling all over the world and I am impressed about the developments taking place in this community. I am happy about the relationship the we have developed with our stakeholders and I am confident that this would be a long term partnership and would indeed bring prosperity to this community", said Mallart.
