What is the issue

The pressure is building and the promises are flowing, politicians who never bothered getting out f their pyjamas before, are now donning the three piece suit, yes, waist coat and all, they are dressing up, some are even shaving before they leave the house. I kid you not. The level of enthusiasm is higher than ever. I think of the phrase that says, "Political leaders and diapers should be changed often and for the same reason."

Well the efforts that the Americans are going to with the change of President Maduro, the president of Venezuela. Donald and his cronies want Guaido in power, some say because of the oil and others actually believe it is because of Maduro being such a bad ugly guy, naughty guy, that doesn't deserve to be president and the Venzuelan people deserve a much better president like Guaido, who will help them get the best value for all that lovely oil they have under the ground. (P.S. None for the Russians!)

John Bolton waded in, he said the army should stand by his American replacement president because that would be protecting the constitution. I wonder how many Venezuelans are still laughing at him. Second failed coup attempt, or is that the third one Smells like desperation to me.

Here at home the possibility of an upset at the national poles is getting more exciting than Greyville night racing. The Institute of race Relations, of all institutions, has given dire predictions for the powers that be in the coming election.

The Yanks may have pushed the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, just a little too far. They won't send him his order of NATO built F-35 fighter jets unless he cancels his order of the Russian S-400s. Just by reading Recep's name you can assume that he is not the kind of guy to let things slide. He is sticking to his guns, pun not intended, and insisting that Turkey can buy from whomever they please. Not according to the USA.

In keeping with the style of late, American diplomacy is also failing on the Korean peninsula, could it be the meeting between Little Rocket Man and president Putin Anyway a senior North Korean diplomat, Choe Son-hui, has been quoted as saying that US secretary of state, Mike Pompeo is having "foolish and dangerous ideas that imply overthrowing our system with military means," she went on to say, "our resolution on denuclearization remains intact and we will do so when time is right."

Good news comes from Serbia and Kosovo agreeing to meet and talk out their differences, taking a little pressure off Merkel and Macron, but at home Macron is still dealing with the Yellow Vest uprising, which looks like spiralling out of control into another fully fledged French Revolution. Imagine the outcome of that.

So voters, sharpen your pencils, check your motivations, maybe read the odd newspaper if it is not too late, and then make sure you get to the polling stations next week and do it for your country.
