With the astounding success that Peugeot enjoyed at the Dakar, with three successive wins, the luxury, styling and performance of their 2008 model falls once again under the spotlight.

Peugeot Umhlanga is the home of the 2008, and sales volumes of over 760 000 units of this model sold since 2013, the brand and the model come with a proven track record.

Sporting a new six-speed gearbox and a smooth changing automatic derivative, the 2008 is available with petrol and diesel engines. I test drove the new 2008 and turned a few heads with the stylish exterior and wowed some of my friends with the latest i-Cockpit functions and fashionable design.

Peugeot's intentions with the 2008 model are very clear, an SUV that can handle seriously rugged terrain is what they aimed for with the new model, and they nailed it on the mark.

Crammed with the most up to date technological advancements in safety, connectivity, and an 18cm colour touch screen that puts almost everything at your fingertips, the 2008 offers an SUV that can double as an executive office space and a family adventure vehicle.

I drove the GT Line model, which had Peugeot's Grip Control system, and I could select from the four modes of normal, snow, all-terrain and sand, according to my environment.

The Peugeot 2008 is definitely a car to take for a test drive, check out the advancements that Peugeot has made with their new models and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Visit them at 15 Meridian Drive, Umhlanga Ridge, or call them on 031 - 580 7950 and take one for a test drive.
