Search for KZN Earth Girls

Search for KZN Earth Girls

Date: 2013-02-13
2013 promises to be a year filled with environmental milestones, sustainable achievements and green dreams as the Miss Earth South Africa embark on their annual search for South Africa's greenest beauties.

Young women between the ages of 18 - 28 years of age are invited to submit their entries for the 2013 programme.

The Miss Earth South Africa strives to empower young South African women to take on an active role in sustainable development, community greening, energy efficiency and carbon reduction programmes.

When the programme started in 2003 it was powered by a dream to inspire, enrich and green the lives of South Africans. In the decade that followed, the lives of hundreds of South African women have been enriched by this increasingly successful programme.

With national entries for the 2013 programme officially open, the Miss Earth South Africa is eager to follow their phenomenal achievements of 2012 and to start working with amazing young women from across the country.

Last year saw the Miss Earth South Africa organisation celebrate 10 years of environmental advocacy by planting their 20,000th tree in Diepsloot, distributing over 10,000 stationery packs to learners at underprivileged schools and touching the lives of hundreds of thousands of learners and community members through various educational programmes and projects.

The Miss Earth South Africa is a women empowerment and education programme that encourages young South African women to become more actively involved in greening projects and conservation efforts as well as to support sustainable programmes in their communities.

The crowing of the 2013 Miss Earth South Africa will take place at an auspicious gala event later this year attended by high profile dignitaries, guests, celebrities and green leaders.

Log on to https://www.missearthsa.co.za to enter and for details of entry requirements. Like their Facebook page and follow them on twitter on @missearth_sa for regular updates throughout the programme. Entries close on 22 February 2013 and castings will take place across the country during April.

Successful candidates will be notified of casting dates in their area.
