Pure Street Spirit Performance

Pure Street Spirit Performance

Date: 2013-08-23
The stunning CB1000R packs exhilarating litre-class Super Sports performance into a compact and muscular-looking form that looks fast even when standing still. It delivers breath-taking acceleration, responsive handling and invigorating thrills at every twist of its throttle. This is combined with smooth, easy control and nimble handling that's just as enjoyable along winding roads as it is on city streets.

The new CB1000R's muscular and sharply styled bodywork features a robustly styled, single sided Pro-Arm swingarm, which supports stylish 17-inch swept 4-spoke wheels. Up front, the CB1000R's compact bikini cowl surrounds a brilliant new three corner shaped multi-reflector headlight with a distinctive LED position lamp integrated into its chin. Plus, a magnesium head and ACG covers and natural finish 5-spoke cast aluminium wheels pivot plates, exude a high tech look of purposeful performance.

The new CB1000R's engine is a direct descendant of Honda's race winning CBR1000RR Fireblade. The CB1000R's mill has been tuned for maximised low-to-mid range performance that produces stronger power and sharper acceleration in the lower reaches of its rev range and more full bodied torque that pulls hard at each twist of the throttle. This results in 30% stronger performance that is both breathtaking and smoothly linear in its delivery.

Features such as IACV (intake air control valve) keep excessive torque reaction and jerky low speed performance to a minimum, ensuring smooth, enjoyable operation from start to finish.

The new CB1000R has an ingenious low-slung system that concentrates most of its weight and mass directly under the engine. This results in optimised mass centralisation for quicker, more neutral handling even in the tightest corners.

The CB1000R is also available as an ABS model. Fitted with Honda's unique electronically-controlled Combined ABS, the exciting new CB1000R ABS offers additional safety and confidence for an exhilarating riding experience.
