Durban's favourite marine theme park is once again turning its spotlight on local talent. uShaka Marine World has announced that auditions are now open for the 4th Annual Entertainment Auditions, giving aspiring musicians, DJs, and dancers a chance to showcase their skills and earn a year-long performance contract.

For many young performers, this stage has become a launchpad. The annual auditions have grown into a celebration of creativity, offering artists the chance not only to entertain visitors but also to build their confidence and careers.

"This annual event is about creating opportunities, celebrating local talent, and giving performers the platform to shine," says uShaka's PR and Events Manager, Thandeka Magomola.

Auditions will roll out across three weekends in October: bands and solo artists on 11-12 October, DJs on 18-19 October, and Zulu dancers on 25-26 October. All events will take place at uShaka Marine World.

Performers will be judged by industry professionals, with adjudication supported by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC), ensuring a fair and transparent process.

Registration is free and open to all qualifying artists, with entries closing on 30 September. Those keen to take part must complete the online entry form via uShaka's official website.

More than just an audition, the programme reflects the city's vibrant cultural heartbeat and uShaka's commitment to supporting homegrown talent.
