Zookey Zarling Triumphed to Raise Funds for Cancer.vive

Zookey Zarling Triumphed to Raise Funds for Cancer.vive

Date: 2013-08-23
To rev up interest in and raise funds for the annual Cancer.vive motorcycle ride across South Africa, Gagasi FM's Zookey, together with East Coast Motorcycles and Satin Candy, a trendy upmarket lingerie store, hosted a swish cocktail function recently.

The event kick started with Zookey Zarling welcoming and speaking about her upcoming motorbike ride in honour of her parents, who both died from cancer.

Cancer.vive aims to create awareness of survivorship of this disease whilst also honouring those who have lost their battle and raising funds and awareness to fight the disease through education. This year's trip sees 60 survivors, supporters and entertainers as well as a media contingency travelling 2300km, with stopovers in most cities, towns and rural communities along the way.

The evening's entertainment line-up included talented singer Kianja, poetry readings by local poet Sthandiwe and a fun filled fashion show featuring Satin Candy's lingerie. The show included experienced models as well as Gagasi FM plus sized listeners who took to the catwalk for the very first time.

Look out for Zookey's next move - the Breakfast Bike Run where Zookey will take to the road on a Triumph motorbike. The ride will take place from Durban to Pietermaritzburg on August 25th. This will cost R30 per person. For more information, email zookey@gagasi995.co.za
