However, the crown of the day has to go to the amazing ZX10R. Boasting a whopping 147Kw (154Kw with RAM Air) & 112Nm, weighing in at a meagre 198/201Kg (ABS), it relentlessly roared around the track as if it was an axed youth league leader running to the appeals committee. Confident that the S-KTRC (Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control) would prevent me from having yet another nibble of the local grass, at a far greater speed albeit, I "bliksemed" around the sharp bends at break neck speeds, braking for them as late & hard as my meagre courage & skill would allow me. Not once did the tail twitch in the slightest, she just felt solid as a rock at all times. Even when I got slightly over eager at times, having to run wide somewhat, not once did I ever feel that I had pushed the Ninja too hard, that the tar was about to say "How's your granny!" At all times I felt exactly as you should on a bike, in control. That's the beauty of the ZX10R, it's a class leading bike that makes you feel like a class leading rider. Even though it was my first time on a track, I felt as if I was Valentino Rossi. Confidence inspiring stuff, allowing me to "Let the Good Times Roll".
At the end of our session we went off to once again nourish ourselves, where I promptly put my seafood diet into action, I see food, then I eat it!! After lunch we sat down to various talks. First up was a spokesperson from Bikefin, the motorcycle finance group. Though my mind was still on the track to be honest, it was still quite informative in that they are currently in negotiations with the giant Wesbank, to offer a far more dynamic & comprehensive product which shall make financing & insuring a bike a far more pleasant experience overall. An excellent thing for our beloved bike industry!! Then we had a chat from a big wig from Optimate, the battery maintenance "thingy magig". Amazing the amount of technology & innovation that goes into the product, which can save you a ton in not having to buy new batteries all the time.
Well, I think I've put about as much finger to keyboard as there is to do. A huge two thumbs up has to go to Chris & the team from KMSA for putting together an awesomely informative day. Can't wait for the next one! (Hint hint nudge nudge) For now let me go pretend to be working.
