They say beauty is skin deep and yes it does sound like an overused clichÈ, however when it comes to this year's Mrs India SA Finalist, Vanessa Ankiah,the saying fits like a glove.

Umhlanga resident, Vanessa is a 44-year-old mother of two beautiful daughters aged 13 and 15 yearsold. They are thesolidfoundation of her life and Vanessa is the first one to say that they are her most precious blessings.

As a certified Pilates and Yoga Instructor, and a Personal Trainer, Vanessa's passion in life is to motivate and uplift women. "It is irrelevant what size, shape or colour, the highlight of my job is when one leaves my Pilates Studiothey wear a smile of gratification,I knowthatI amin the right profession." Vanessa told The Bugle.

During her four-yearresidence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Vanessa was afforded the privilege of being the trainer to several Saudi Princess's and also a United Nations Ambassador. This was a life changing experience for her and an immensely educationalone as well.

As a Mrs India SA Finalist, Vanessa wants to make a difference, she has undertaken a few charitable projects to bring about transformation in her community, "If there is one message that echoes forth from my application, let it be that of human rights and woman's rights! We should not forget that amongst those rights are the rights to speak freelyand the right to be heard." Said Vanessa.

The Mrs. India South Africa pageant is a national event, which creates a platform to showcase the inner, and outer beauty of married, divorced, and widowed Indian ladies in South Africa.

Through this event the organisers salute and give recognition to women for their achievements and contribution to society in an effort to promote health and well-being and empower women through empowerment.

The pageant has opened many doors for past contestants, boosted self- confidence and allowed many women to develop self-pride.

Vanessa's focus is very clear, in order to achieve the Philanthropic Title and offer aid to SHE foundation and Sahara Shelter For Abused Women she has to find sponsors to help her on her journey. The Mrs. India South Africa event is nothing short of greatness. The organization celebrates its 10th year and will be showcasing past winners in grand style. The 2016 pageant is scheduled for the 19th November at The Durban Playhouse. Tickets for the event will be available from Computicket mid October.
