Testing The Golf SV

Testing The Golf SV

Author: Tomas Yoko
Date: 2015-12-11
The latest Volkswagen Golf model to arrive on the scene was waiting for me in my driveway. Golf SV, or Sportsvan as it is known in Europe, is for all intents and purposes a Volkswagen Golf, only somewhat larger.

This all-new model from Volkswagen is packed with all the delightful technology of the award-winning Golf range that we have come to know and love. However with 83mm more length to the SV, 8mm more width and a whole 126mm more height it did give a slightly more airy feeling to the Golf environment.

Driving the SV was as enjoyable as driving any Golf out there, bar the Gti range for obvious reasons, however the SV performed impeccably as ususal.

I understand that the SV has been well received and is available in petrol and diesel derivatives with a selection of engine capacities.

As I flitted through the traffic circles on my way into town I marvelled at the steady handling and smooth accelleration I have come to know and love in the Volkswagen range. At first I could not tell the difference in the added size offered in the SV so I just took it for granted. Sharp braking and pinpoint accuracy in the steering mechanism did distract me somewhat.

So if you are looking for a slightly larger Golf than the average Golf, then consider the Golf SV, a Sportsvan for the family or the sporty or the single guy who just loves life.
