Shirt Off Your Back Initiative a Success

Shirt Off Your Back Initiative a Success

Date: 2013-06-13
Started by Neat Freak's CEO, Isabelle de Grandpre, in memory of her late father Pierre Robert, the Shirt Off Your Back (SOYB) initiative ran throughout the month of May and was a huge success, with over one hundred bulging bags of pre-loved clothing collected for distribution to the Highway Hospice and the Open Door Crisis Centre. Both charities will be distributing the clothing to the community via various projects as well as selling it to raise funds for their programmes.

"I am completely over-whelmed by the support we received during this, our inaugural Shirt Off Your Back campaign. One lady called and recounted how her husband, like my father, would have given the shirt off his back and she had been struggling to give away his clothing. When she read about the SOYB campaign, she called and made her donation of his things. It is people like this, and all my friends and family who have helped with the sorting, fetching and deliveries, that has made the SOYB campaign a success. What an honour to be able to help people in need. Next year is bound to be even better!" says Isabelle.
