Nature and birds with Baroque 2000
The second concert of Baroque 2000 Series will take place on Sunday 24 April, 11h30am at the Church of the Mariannhill Monastery. The concert programme theme will be "Nature and birds".
Violinist Ralitza Macheva will be the soloist of the "Summer" concerto of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Evelien Ballantine will play the flute in "II Gardellino" (the goldfinch) concerto in D major by Vivaldi.
"The Hen", will be heard in a Concert Suite by Jean-Philippe Rameau and the "Cuckoo" song will appear in a composition by Louis Claude Daquin, another French Baroque composer. To complete the programme, Baroque 2000 will perform the very dynamic piece by Vivaldi called "Alla Rustica".
