World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

Date: 2013-11-15
An opportunity for silent and profound reflection on Road Safety? A day to empathize with the bereaved families? A day to honor those who regularly handle post-accident scenarios?A time to dedicate precious moments to express that we Value Life? An occasion to pledge for positive change, beginning with the self -- awareness, attitude and behavior.

With the increasing trend of road accidents, more than 3500 people face an abrupt stop in the ongoing journey of Life - Everyday! There are countless others who may luckily survive the mishap, but their condition reminds us that much needs to be done for road safety. It is high time we recognize the sensitivity of this issue and join hands to create safer roads. On Sunday, November 17, 2013, as people across the globe, observe the World Day of Remembrance (WDR) declared by the United Nations, the Brahma Kumaris is dedicating their International Meditation Hour (6:30-7:30 pm local time) in observance of this day. We invite you to join us for a meditative evening, as we extend the power of our good wishes to those who have been directly or indirectly affected by road accidents. We will practice 'traffic control' of the mind. With the energy of our pure thoughts, we will collectively offer emotional and spiritual support. Pure thoughts serve to carry vibrations of love, peace and hope. Pure thoughts transcend the limits of Time, and have the potential to heal the past, strengthen the present, and build a better future. This meditative practice is an opportunity for us to harness spiritual energy with a pledge for road safety. Do join us. Your Thoughts Count!
