What's the issue?

What's the issue?

Well the rats and mice are really crawling out from under their hidey-holes with the buzz of the pending elections now becoming the talk of the town.

For me it was a slap in the face when I heard the quotes of Cyril Ramaphosa saying that the Boers were going to come back and control us if we don't all vote, every one of us South Africans. I had such respect for this man and held him as the most hopeful candidate to take the presidency of our beloved country. I could not understand when he went into business instead of leading the ANC.

Well now I understand but I wont say exactly what it is I understand. I will tell you however what I don't understand. What the hell is happening with the Police? The Police is the backbone of the state. Without police were poked. We have to revere the police, they protect and serve. They put their lives on the line so we can live our in safety and comfort knowing we re protected. But hey, can it be true that Robert McBride is still enjoying a career in the police? Can it be? I would be shocked if he was allowed to be a security guard but wait! He was actually seriously being put forward as the head of IPID. IPID is the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, and they want to make Robert the head. These are the guys who investigate the police. Eish, I don't understand. How? How? How?

I once met an investigative journalist who told me a story I can't or won't verify, it was about how Robert chose the Magoos Bar to plant his bomb and in so doing became a terrorist and killed a number of innocent people in his efforts as a revolutionary. Apparently the barman made a crack saying "May the force be with you," as McBride left the bar, a Star Wars line, and Rob thought it was a signal that the people in the bar were from the police force.

This latest move by Police Minister Nathi Mthetwa spins my head so bad I can only assume the worst. Bheki Cele, Riah Phiyega, Jackie Selebi, am I seeing a pattern.

This is probably the biggest blunder we can make as a nation. Allow our police to be decimated by criminals and we can throw this country down the drain. Cops in full uniform hijacking cars? Cops in full uniform robbing houses? In Amrica if you kill a cop it is like committing a mortal sin. In South Africa?

I respect the police, at least the honest hard working upright police I have come to know. Honourable men who are brave, almost fearless, putting themselves on the front line for you, and our children. This is a screaming siren that has to be heard.

Pyotr Pavlensky recently nailed his scrotum to the paving in Red Square in protest. I just hope I don't have to go that far.
