Honda's New VFR800F
Honda's New VFR800F
The V4 engine configuration is a special one for Honda, going back nearly 40 years. A complex, yet compact unit, it has a unique power delivery and a soul all of its own. Honda's current RC213V MotoGP machine uses a V4, as does the flagship sport-touring VFR1200F. This is a power plant woven tightly into Honda's engineering DNA.
Nowhere has the V4 engine been more at home than in the legendary VFR series, a truly all-round motorcycle that does sport as well as it tours, with or without a pillion. This is a bike that has inspired huge loyalty among owners over the last two decades and it is estimated that there are still 75,000 VFRs in regular use in Europe alone.
Legions of VFR fans know exactly what they like about their bike and also what they would like more and indeed less of in a new model. With such an important fan base, Honda listened intently to customers' views. In essence what they told us is that they want a high-quality motorcycle with strong low and mid-range torque, light and slim and yet capable and adaptable, with a return to the evocative look and feel of VFRs of the past.
Come and visit us at Honda Wing Umhlanga, 15 Meridian Drive, Umhlanga Ridge and we will tell you more about this exciting new model. Call us on 031 580 7900 for details or to book a test ride on the model of your choice.
