Bless-a-Granny

Bless-a-Granny

Date: 2015-10-30
Some of the team at Viva Telecoms getting the 20 gifts they've pledged for The Robin Hood Foundation's Bless-a-Granny and Grandpa campaign ready for drop off this week.

Says Samantha Yuil, company Accountant, "What a wonderful initiative to get involved with, to help spread love and blessings to the elderly this Christmas season. To think that some of them might not get a visit or a gift especially at this time of year when we are all used to houses full of family is heartbreaking! We are so glad we could help make a small difference in their lives and encourage all other communications companies to get involved and do the same".

From left to right: Gaynor Geyer, Anzelle Bester, Samantha Yuill and Dylan Pfeil. The Robin Hood Foundation invites the community to be part of the Christmas magic and participate in their 'Bless a Granny & Grandpa' campaign by either buying a personalised gift, baking treats for the visits or coming along to assist with the handing out of presents.

''The elderly folk are so grateful for their much anticipated gifts but are even more appreciative of the time taken to make a fuss over them,'' comments Kim Griffith Jones, co-ordinator of the Robin Hood Foundation. ''For many living in old age homes this is the only gift and only visit they receive the whole year round. We encourage individuals and corporates, like Viva Telecoms, to get involved in any way they can,'' concludes Kim.

For more information, or to receive a personalised wish list in order to purchase a gift valued at R150, please contact Kim on 076 612 9060 or email robinhoodfund@telkomsa.net.
