Singer/ songwriter, Brian Finch, has been diagnosed with cancer. To help with the exorbitant costs that will be incurred during the treatment, various fund-raisers will be held throughout South Africa and there will also beone in Namibia. The Durban show has been organised by Don Clarke, of Monkeyshines Studios, and local singer/song writer, Richard Roberts,
Brian was born in Durban, and has had a long and illustrious musical career. He is now based in Prince Albert. He played with Brian Gibson at the renowned club Totum in Durban in the late 60s. He also worked with the late Ken E Henson in the duo Finch & Henson, who toured South Africa extensively. Between various collaborations, Brian has been performing as a solo artist across the country.
The Durban benefit will be held at Musketeers, Barham Rd, Westville, on Saturday, 16th June, and the entertainment will be provide by Dicky Roberts & Don Clarke, Tiffany Sheppard, Rorke Kemp, Alchemy, Spider Murch, Graham Boyle, Salty Dog, East Coast Basement Blues Band, and more. The music will start at 2pm.
