Date: 2016-11-18
Vino Govender, Director of LA Engineering an SECP Client and Durban Chamber Member has won the TOP 20 Award and the National Woman in Business Champion Award 2016 hosted by the NSBC (National Small Business Chamber) last week.

The NSBC, which was established in 2007, is a non-profit membership organisation and the driving force fuelling small business growth. The organisation supports the sustainability and growth of the SME sector, driving job creation, alleviating unemployment and nurturing the country's entrepreneurial spirit.

The NSBC who recently held their annual South African National Small Business Awards at a prestigious business breakfast event in the Ballroom of Montecasino in Johannesburg, promotes the success of small business by encouraging a much needed spirit of entrepreneurship through the South African Small Business Awards. The NSBC has grown considerably over recent years with around 108000 member companies.

LA Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd entered for the Top 20 Awards as well and in the Category of "National Woman in Business Champion", winning awards for both.

Ms Vino Govender, has been instrumental in successfully leading the company through a very challenging socio, economic and political trying period in the country's history. "LA Engineering is passionate about the development of communities and small business in South Africa through the consulting engineering services that we provide as well as through our many CSI initiatives. LA has proven that even small businesses can make a significant impact on the lives communities that they serve in." Said Vino.

"In an environment with such high levels of unemployment, and low skills base, it is LA's belief that South Africa desperately needs a collective drive from both the private (corporate and SMMEs) and public sectors to effect the change required to make South African a Champion Nation." Concluded Vino.
