Peugeot have once again pulled out all the stops and produced another groundbreaking option in the new improved 2008, a compact crossover SUV, with added value at every turn.
Test-driving the Peugeot 2008 was so much fun, the ease of use that the six speed automatic gearbox brought to the experience made casual traffic driving a cinch and testy off road exercises that much more composed.
I was treated to the newly advanced PureTech 1,2-litre turbo petrol engine found in the Allure GT Line derivative. Coupled with Peugeot's new six-speed automatic gearbox and endowed with Peugeot's all-terrain attitude.
There is a comprehensive transformation sweeping through all the Peugeot models, one of them is the iCockpit concept that met with enthusiasm in the award winning Peugeot 308 hatchback. Well the 2008 has followed suite and has a 7-inch colour touch screen that gave me more information than I could handle.
Driving the 2008 impressed upon me how sooth everything was, the seat belts seemed to slide into position and the gear selector and instruments all behaved as if they had a sixth sense and knew what I wanted.
Good looks go a long way and the 2008 is a very handsome model indeed, on the tar or in the dirt.
The 2008 is available in four models, petrol or diesel and has three spec levels to choose from.
