A Dream Realised: Maseeha Kolia Launches The Odyssey of a Woman

A Dream Realised: Maseeha Kolia Launches The Odyssey of a Woman

Author: By Independent Bugle Reporter
Date: 2026-03-27

There was joy in the air at Ekhaya Guest House in Ballito last Saturday, as local author Maseeha Kolia celebrated the launch of her debut book, The Odyssey of a Woman - and what a day to choose. Human Rights Day, 21 March 2026, provided the perfect backdrop for a book that, by its author's own description, "tackles every part of life."

Friends, family and fellow literary enthusiasts from the Ballito Book Readers and Ballito Writers' Group filled the room, turning what might have been a quiet milestone into a genuine celebration of local talent.

For Maseeha, the moment was a long time coming. "I am truly grateful and appreciate everyone who supported me during this journey," she said. "I've grown and got the opportunity to meet and make friends with a lot of interesting people."

She was especially moved by the steadfast support of her mother and brother. "A huge thank you to them for standing with me during the highs and lows."

Her hopes for the book are as generous as the journey that produced it. "I pray this book inspires those who read it and encourages future generations to take up literature."

As for what lies ahead - Maseeha is already writing. "I look forward to many more wonderful adventures on this journey of life."

The Odyssey of a Woman is available on Amazon, Amazon Kindle and Draft2Digital, or contact Maseeha directly on 079 082 6126.
