Back To Front For Mg Racing

Back To Front For Mg Racing

Author: Tomas Yoko
Date: 2012-07-04
Jason Plato pulled a rabbit out the hat after his first race went south due to a technical concern, by winning the days third race, making it his 70th victory in his illustrious BTCC career.

It was at the Croft circuit in North Yorkshire where the MG KX Momentum Racing team captured their second race victory of the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season.

It was the same technical hitch that pestered the MG team in qualifying that returned just before the start of the first race. For the second time Jason missed the start of race one, but that did not deter him from fighting to the finish line. It wasn't the first time that Jason came from the back of the grid and managed to finish on the podium, and with a turn of luck the MG team found themselves running first and second followed closely by the BMW's.

"A great end to what had been something of a tough weekend. Getting the win means the team can head into the summer break with optimism for the second half of the season. We made some changes to the set-up in that last race, which took the car in the right direction and with some testing and some development parts, we'll be ready to fight when we get to Snetterton in August" Jason enthused to his fans and the media.

MG is now available in Umhlanga Ridge at their brand new dealership. Visit them a 1 Wilton Close and take the new MG6 for a test drive. Call them on 031 580 4114 and join the MG family.
