Actorwize's, Reach for The Stars holiday course is a real boost for youngsters aged 11 to 17 years of age wanting to explore film studies with award winning actor and teacher, Rajesh Gopie (MA Actor Training and Coaching, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, UK).
The two-week long course takes will be held at Durban High School Bowling club, Gainsboriugh Avenue, Durban North. The course was previously hosted in Johannesburg and Cape Town and now Durban's young talent can take advantage.
Participants will learn how to act for film, work with directors, learn on-set dos and don'ts, how to read and understand scenes as well as character development. Gopie says, "Students grow immensely in this short time even if they have no previous training. Young people will surprise you with their hidden intelligence and talents. All you need to do is create the appropriate avenues for this talent to blossom." It's no wonder Gopie is sort after as an acting coach and he has coached many young actors and professionals on local and international films. This course gives a unique opportunity to work with this acclaimed actor and teacher.
Readers will easily recognise Gopie, from his iconic roles in Keeping Up With The Kandasammys, Mayfair, Hansie among others and on his return from the UK he has placed his passion into training South African actors of all ages. The Reach For The Stars gives the young actor world class training as well as an enriching life experience.
