Sentra Sensation

Sentra Sensation

Author: Tomas Yoko
Date: 2014-03-14
The return of the Nissan Sentra stirred up a whole swathe of sentiment, so many of us remember the Nissan Sentra from our youth and a small number of us may have even had the Sentra as our first car.

The new thirteenth generation Nissan Sentra strikes a sophisticated pose with its curvaceous body lines and chrome finish grill.

Driving the new Sentra wont get your adrenalin glands squeezing too hard, however the sixteen hundred normally aspirated petrol engine produces 85 kilowatts and 154 Newton meters. This power output proved plenty in getting the Nissan Sentra over the speed limit; the suspension was very forgiving and provided a very comfortable ride.

The Sentra was designed as a family car and it fits perfectly into the C Segment, giving Nissan a real player in this segment. The cavernous boot is large enough to fit the whole family's luggage for the trip to the Cape or all the lift clubs sport bags, school bags, lunch boxes and cricket gear. I slipped two sets of golf clubs and two golf trolleys in without any fuss.

A choice of gearboxes will have you choosing between the smooth shifting manual, five-speed box or the automatic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). I personally enjoy the CVT performance, however it is not to everybody's liking, so test drive one thoroughly before you make the call.

Speaking of test-driving the new Sentra, call in at McCarthy Nissan Umhlanga and take a Sentra out for a whirl. Call them on 031 940 5690 or visit their showroom at 2 - 11 Sunset Close, Umhlanga Ridge.
