Official Opening Of The Sivananda-King Goodwill Zwelithini Ka-Bhekuzulu Educational Centre

Official Opening Of The Sivananda-King Goodwill Zwelithini Ka-Bhekuzulu Educational Centre

Date: 2017-10-26

On the 17TH of October 2017His Majesty, King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuZulu, King of the Zulu Nation, His Holiness, Sri Swami Padmanabhananda, General secretary of the Divine Life Society, Rishikesh, India and Mr Ishwar Ramlutchman officially opened the centre.

Mr Ishwar Ramlutchman, philanthropist and humanitarian through the Sivananda World Peace Foundation funded this project at Mitchell Park Trust. We place on record our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Trustees and Ethekwini Municipality for affording us the opportunity to serve the people of KwaZulu natal more especially the children in particular who will benefit from this educational center. We are very happy to announce the Name for the centre, which is named after His Holiness Sri Swami Sivananda and His Majesty the King, King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuZulu.

It is most befitting as Swami Sivananda's influence here in South Africa led to the building of more than 300 schools in KwaZulu Natal under the leadership of the Late His Holiness Sri Swami Sahajananda. This year marks 200years of the founding of the Zulu Nation and 46 years since His Majesty, King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuZulu has been coroneted as the Zulu King. His Majesty's efforts to bring peace and stability in our province are highly appreciated. Therefore it is befitting to name the educational center after these two giants said Ishwar Ramlutchman.

His Majesty the King was very pleased to be at the Mitchell Park Zoo to officially open the education center. It was His Majesty's first visit to the park. His majesty added His voice to protect and preserve and protect our environment. He added that thousands of Rhino's are being poached and this could affect our future generations. We all should take the initiative to promote the park and to create opportunities to highlight to International tourists our rich heritage. His Majesty requested that there should be an arts and crafts center within the park. The funds from this craft center will help sustain the park. The park is so serene and beautiful which is situated in the heart of Durban said His Majesty. His Majesty thanked the Sivananda world peace foundation and the trustees of Mitchell Park Trust for having this vision to erect the educational center.

His Holiness, Sri Swami Padamanabhananda, general secretary of the Divine Life Society from Rishikesh, India highlighted the value of taking care of our natural environment. South Africa has the best flora and fauna. We are part of this flora and fauna; we are equally dependent on them. It is imperative on all of us to protect the environment. I thank His Majesty the King, Mr Ishwar Ramlutchman and the eThekwini Municipality for protecting the environment said Swami Padmanabhananda.
