Durban Ultra extends entry deadline

Durban Ultra extends entry deadline

Date: 2018-02-09

The 2018 MiWayLife Durban Ultra Triathlon is three weeks away and organisers have decided that they will be extending the entry deadline for the event until 13 February, allowing athletes the chance to get in those last minute entries.

The 4th March event is touted as one of Africa's greatest ultra and sprint triathlon's taking in the best that the East Coast of South Africa has to offer.

This exciting Ultra Triathlon Series is now in its 11th year and consists of four exciting events taking place at exclusive locations nationally.

Each event offers a rewarding Sprint & Ultra distance race, with competitors being able to enter individually or in a relay team.

The focus for each and every event is the competitor, with event organisers making the participant the number one priority. The Durban Ultra Triathlon brings back the nostalgic atmosphere of the Durban Ultra hosted in the mid 80's to late 90's.

The two-lap cycling route takes the Ultra competitors north up the M4 to Umdloti where they will turn. The sprint racers will do an out and back loop of 20km each, turning at Glenashley and returning to Durban.

With the finish of the event happening by the Moses Mabhida tunnel in front of the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium, the running route will take competitors along the Golden Mile from Snake Park to Blue Lagoon.

An exciting, flat and fast route along the promenade will test the legs of all athletes before they reach the elusive finish line in front of the MM Stadium.

Entries are limited to 800 Ultra and 800 Sprint athletes. Entries close on the 13th February and more info on entries can be found at https://ultratri.co.za/durban-ultra/enter-race/ The MiWayLife Durban Ultra Triathlon takes place on Sunday 4 March.
