Mercedes On Form

Author: Tomas Yoko
Date: 2014-04-11
The Silver Arrows were right on target this past weekend with Mercedes showing the F1 World how they have mastered this sixteen hundred turbo charged engine and the new car setup, taking a second successive One Two win at Sakhir in in Bahrain. In a thrilling race, the third of the season, Formula One racing produced the kind of thrills and excitement that keeps F1 fans coming back for more. In a day filled with action Mercedes dominated with a team duel, Nico and Lewis battled it out wheel to wheel in a display of breath-taking ability.

Estaban Gutierrez was literally flipped into a barrel roll in his Sauber by Maldonado, coming out unscathed but out of the race he went, his teammate suffering a similar fate when Bianchi ended Sutil's race in an accident that should really not have happened. More surprises when Force India and Sergio Perez held off the feisty advances of Red Bull's Ricciardo who came from 13th on the grid, even showing his teammate, world champion Sebastian Vettel some flames. Tyre choices and the safety car helped the Red Bull team along while Ferrari struggled throughout the race with line speed and grip.

The next thrilling meeting will be in China, the Shanghai International Circuit on Sunday the 20th April at 09H00. If you miss it, read about it in The Bugle. Caption: Nico Rosberg (left) and Lewis Hamilton (right) celebrate together on the podium in Bahrain.
