Matric Dance Show

Matric Dance Show

Date: 2015-06-19
The Matric Dance students of Crawford College North Coast performed their practical dance items at a show in the Drama Studio on Friday, 29 May. This was the first matric group to do so as it was this group of students' passion and dedication for this art-form that encouraged the introduction of dance. It has added a wonderfully new dimension to the enriching sphere of arts and culture at the college.

Emma Tomlinson's choreographed piece, entitled "Diversity" celebrated the diversity of the dancers in her group, while Ciara Murphy choreographed "Heal", as a dedication to her grandfather to celebrate the inspiration he brought to her life. Tanya Webb choreographed "Youth", as a dedication to the special friends she made at the American Academy of Ballet who like her are "wild youth chasing visions of our future" that one day will reveal the truth.

Tasmin Hewitt choreographed "Unknown" as the future holds so many unknowns being as it is so perpetually unpredictable. To finish off the evening, dance teacher Ms Natashia Hooman's dance item "Bullet Train" reflected upon the pace at which the world was moving, this being a fitting end to a spectacular dance show that reveals the dance performance apex of these students' school career.
