Trailblazing From Mountain To Sea - In A Z71

Trailblazing From Mountain To Sea - In A Z71

The Chevrolet Trailblazer is celebrated for its muscular Sports Utility Vehicle attitude, which mover seven people comfortably of the most inhospitable ground.

Enter the Trailblazer Z71, with its powerful 2.8 litre Duramax Turbo-diesel VGT engine. Talking muscular, Chevrolet has given the Z71 an engine that produces 144 kilowatts and 500 Newton metres of torque. That is towing power for days and on the open road to Kamsberg, it meant smooth, low revving cruising, sipping on the diesel ever so slightly. Reported fuel consumption is as low as 9.5 litres per hundred kilometres.

I must admit that travelling on the highway, there may have been a moment where I wasn't concentrating and when I glanced at the speedometer, I gasped and was taken aback at how smooth the suspension of the Trailbalzer was, I had no idea I was going so fast. The Chevrolet Traiblazer Z71 hops from zero to a hundred in just 10.4 seconds and has a top speed of 180 kilometres per hour.

The plush interior was luxurious to say the least, and as we descended the escarpment towards the ocean and some really soft beach sand, I marvelled at the infotainment system, Chevrolet call it MyLink 2.0 and it was fully compatible with my Apple devices as it is with Android.

It was a long road so I had time to think about the added safety features the Trailblazer had. Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert and a list more, could have had me thinking I was in a luxury saloon.
