Fiat Panda, Cross and 4x4

Fiat Panda, Cross and 4x4

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles presented me with the Fiat panda Lounge and the new Fiat Panda 4X4 to test-drive, a job I took great relish in doing.

From the outset it was obvious that the panda loved having fun. It is a fresh faced design that lends itself to functionality and despite the car being so small, I felt like I had more than enough room in both the Panda Lounge and the Panda 4X4.

Fiat has coined the phrase "City SUV" for the Panda 4X4 and the Panda Cross derivatives, and functionality that the Panda delivered was comforting.

Despite having rather small engines, in comparison to other SUV's, the Panda sports a two-cylinder 900 cc engine that never left me feeling frustrated and wanting much more power. The TwinAir petrol engine delivers a healthy 63 kilowatts of power and 145 Newton meters of Torque and is boosted up to 66 kilowatts in the Panda Cross derivative.

The Fiat Panda Lounge that I tested had a five speed manual transmission and the 4X4 had a 6-speed box.

This is a car for an individual with a strong sense of self, someone who has a flair for design and is comfortable in their own skin. I enjoyed driving both models.
