Cell C's iPhone 5 and its LTE Innovation

Cell C's iPhone 5 and its LTE Innovation

Date: 2012-12-19
After months of waiting, the iPhone 5 is now available to South Africans on a high data speed network. Cell C announced that, as of the 14th of December 2012, the iPhone 5 will be available in 16GB and 32GB forms, with the price of a 24 month contract sitting at R399pm and R699pm respecting. Cell C bundles SMSs, airtime and even an allocated cap of up to 700MB of data with this offer.

This 7.6mm thin aesthetic masterpiece is finished of so beautifully the hefty monthly repayments will become a less painful thought. Over and above this, the features of this device are world-class.

Apple released the iPhone 5 as their 'top of the market' competitor, and are presenting a clear threat to Samsung currently. This phone has features like 4G, a 4inch Retina screen, Apples Operating System OS6 and an 8-megapixel iSight camera.

The iPhone 5 is being touted as "The thinnest, lightest, fastest iPhone ever" - while this might be the case, most of South Africa still has no access to Cell C's LTE network, which is currently being established and run in certain areas in Johannesburg only, as the Government and Cell C still have not come to a solution on the stalemate over issues of spectrum allocation.

LTE has the potential to run at more than double any speed offered by networks in South Africa today, allowing users to download at up to 100Mb/s. this speed is much faster than most home internet connection speeds in South Africa.
