Early Childhood Development matters

Early Childhood Development matters

Date: 2017-02-10
The Domino Foundation is thrilled to begin a three year learning journey with three crèches in the Waterloo community of KZN, providing the skills, expertise and support to help these crèches become safe and stimulating places where young children to learn, develop and grow.

Shaun Tait, COO of The Domino Foundation, feels excited to work alongside the Waterloo crèches by empowering crèche owners with the necessary tools to improve active learning within their ECD centres and give them the opportunity to become self-sufficient, small businesses.

"For children to reach their full potential it's crucial they receive Early Childhood Development, a chance for them to grow mentally, physically and emotionally within a safe learning environment. With that purpose in mind our ECD programme aims to improve the quality of learning and to increase preparation for school readiness for children under the age of seven by equipping crèche owners; a task we've taken to heart over the past four years. We dream of seeing active learning taking place in crèches around South Africa, where Early Childhood Development centers are not just a babysitting service. "

Through The Domino Foundation's feeding programme, which distributes close to a million meals a year, children will also receive hearty and nutritious meals. To find out more about The Domino Foundation and their many programmes visit https://www.domino.org.za
