Beliefs that could ruin your life forever if you do not change them quickly

Beliefs that could ruin your life forever if you do not change them quickly

Life is changing at a fast pace and holding on to certain beliefs can ruin your life forever if you take no action to fix them. This comes mostly from ways of thinking that were still popular a few years back. But, things have all changed and you need to adapt.

My pension is safe - Your pension can be a fund managed by a company that is connected to the company you work for. Enron is a case in point - where the retirement plan was heavy with company stock and when the company tanked, it took all the pension money with it.

In a world where instant gratification is the norm, many people "dip" into their pension funds every now and then to buy a pool of fund that overseas holiday. This is the quickest way to wipe out any financial future you might have had! Wave a retirement of "no work" goodbye because you will probably work until your death.

The dream of having a job for life, continual economic growth, tertiary qualifications that will guarantee a permanent position and a pension have vanished. The 2008 world financial crisis heralded the arrival of a new world of insecurity. Even Suzy Orman said the following during an interview with Forbes: "The middle class has disappeared".

The old thinking of having a job for life is gone; companies need to be agile and adaptable in this new economy and having you there long term does not serve that strategy well.

I work with people to help them realize their own potential and help them build revenue-making initiatives around their abilities and potential so that they can adapt to the uncertain and fast changing economic times we live in.

There is only one thing you can steadily depend on and that is you. Only you have the ability to change and adapt to this uncertain world. If you choose to do so.

Only you can save yourself in a time where secure jobs, steady paychecks and stable governments are disappearing like mist in the morning sun. It is not as difficult as you think it might be and you can start by doing the following:

#1: Be honest with yourself about your current financial and employment situation. See it for what it is. Do not try to sugarcoat it. If it looks bleak, then be happy that you see it now and not later. You can only plan to get out of your situation once you know the situation you are in. Looking honestly at your life can be scary, I know what you will face.

#2: Discover yourself and your talents. Very few of us know what we are capable of in this world. This might sound extreme, but when I did my firewalking instructor certification, I learnt more about myself in 5 days than I did in 6 months. By knowing what you are capable of, you can plan how to respond to uncertain situations using your own skills and talents. How will you know when you are discovering what you are capable off?

#3: Take charge and educate yourself. What are you reading now? Read, read and read some more but not if you are reading gossip magazines since they ad no value to your life. The only things gossip magazines teach you are to judge, to break others down and put them beneath you so that you can feel better. Read with purpose, discover specific subjects.

Dammit, whatever you do - start seeing the superhero within yourself, believing in yourself and growing yourself. If you don't do it nobody else will, because they are too busy with their own lives and worries.
