Standard Bank People's Wheels Awards

Standard Bank People's Wheels Awards

Date: 2015-11-20
A total of four products from Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) have been voted as the top choices in their respective segments at the fifth annual Standard Bank People's Wheels Awards, announced today in Sandton.

The annual People's Wheels Awards initiative is run by the Future Group, in association with Standard Bank Vehicle and Asset Finance. According to the organisers, the fifth annual nationwide survey of vehicle owners drew its biggest-ever response this year with thousands of online votes. These determined which automotive brands were considered the best by SA's motoring public.

The segment-defining Ford Ranger, which is produced locally at the Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria, was selected as the top Double Cab for the third year in a row, and also took the honours in the Single Cab category.

Ford had two top choices in the SUV/Crossover segments, with the segment-leading EcoSport emerging victorious in the category for small SUVs for the second consecutive year, while its bigger brother, the Ford Kuga, dominated the Compact SUV class.

"We are delighted with Ford's continued success in the Standard Bank People's Wheels Awards, as this reflects genuine customer sentiment regarding the ownership experience of our products," says Tracey Delate, General Marketing Manager, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa.

"The People's Wheels Awards mirrors the current market trends, with the Ranger having topped the light commercial vehicle segment for the first half of the year, and once again outselling its rivals in October.

"The EcoSport remains as popular as ever, and is unchallenged for top status in the small SUV category, while the Kuga continues to impress with its quality, luxury and performance," Delate says.

Aside from the product awards, Action Ford in Roodepoort earned a Highly Commended Dealership award for consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
