Hats On!! for the musical "chariTEA".

Hats On!! for the musical "chariTEA".

Date: 2013-07-04
Picture hats and pretty frocks will be compulsory at the vintage musical "chariTEA" party on Thursday afternoon, 1 August at Hotel Izulu in Ballito.

While nibbling on cucumber sandwiches, smoked salmon canapés, scones with strawberry jam and cream, brandy snaps and chocolate eclairs, guests will be listening to music by the newly formed Amici group of professional musicians. Amici (friends), under the leadership of local pianist Sareen Roberts, will perform ensemble items including popular classics, old favourites and music with a distinct Spanish flavour. Among others, they will play Moskowski's Spanish Dances, Monti's Czardas and Bizet's Serenade Espagnole and Habanera from Carmen.

If that is not enough to whet the appetite, part of Mozart's Horn Concerto and some jazz items will also be on the program.

Presented by the Christmas Fair Fund, the vintage tea party is one of the organisation's annual fundraising events. All money raised will be distributed to local north coast charities like St Lukes Home of Healing, KwaMama, Hearts of Hope, the Lower Tugela Bursary Fund and various feeding schemes and creches.

To book your seat at R150 per person for this elegant tea party, please contact Ray Thompson on 083 225 4934, or Marion Murless on 083 789 9046.
