DUT students sweep the boards at Vodacom Durban July
The high-power panel of judge made up of designers was blown away by the broad range of garments produced by KZN Students, making the decision of narrowing the final 10 down from 30 semi-finalists almost impossible.
"The judging was such a difficult decision", remarked judge Karen Monk-Klijnstra "You can see every designer put their heart and soul into each outfit. We chose designs with a clever concept, that were true to the green theme and students who really tested the boundaries of design", she said.
During deliberation, five of Durban's heavy-weight designers showcased their designs, reminding us that KZN fashion is a force to be reckoned with.
The fashions viewed this evening promise that the Vodacom Durban July will be a powerful fashion adventure for designers and race-goers alike.
Top ten finalists include; Jade Pillay, Nkosingphile Thusi, Kylie Folkard, Tammy Sturrock, Lauren Jansen, Chanelle Wright, Daniel Panton, Chelsea Larkan, Banu Bulose (all DUT) and Nontethelelo Shelembe (PMB School of Fashion).
The Vodacom Durban July takes place at Greyville racecourse on Saturday 7 July 2012. More information can be found at https://www.vodacomdurbanjuly.co.za
