Whilst he didn't get a win, Graeme Nathan's second place in class T brought the Indyoil Golf GTI driver a step closer to a successful title defence. This was assisted by Gavin Cronje finishing a disappointing sixth, struggling with a misbehaving MINI Cooper S thanks to fuel spilling onto the rear tyres. That left Lee Thompson to uphold Castrol MINI honours - which he did, first taking the Williams Hunt Chevrolet Cruze of Michael van Rooyen with a neat move before making the most of a mistake by Nathan to take the lead.

Thompson made it a double in class T with a perfect drive from the back of the field making the second win especially sweet. Peering at the MINI's rear window once again was Nathan, reasonably happy with second place considering Cronje could only muster a third place finish after losing third gear.

Class T saw a four-way dice with the two MINI's taking on the two VWs resulting some nail-biting action. It eventually went the way of Graeme Nathan in his Indyoil Golf GTI, who managed to keep his nose ahead of championship-rival Gavin Cronje in the Castrol MINI Cooper.

In what is almost becoming routine for Lee Thompson, his Castrol MINI blew its engine on the penultimate lap, which gifted Jacques Joubert in the second Indyoil Golf a podium spot.

The outcome of the day was turned on its head when Nathan's Golf was excluded for a technical infringement, which gave Cronje first place. This has significant repercussions for the championship as it causes a massive shift in the results. The Indyoil team protested the matter and whether the original results stand will be announced soon.
