What's the issue?

What's the issue?

Thomas Thabane nearly lost his country to the military, and could it be because he granted the Guptas special concessions? If not, then it is a weird and wonderful coincidence.

The brave Lesotho Prime Minister said he was not going to go back to Lesotho to be killed. Good thinking on his part, and now with the support of the South African Government, also friends of the Guptas, he is reportedly on his way back to take up his post. I am amazed at how little was reported on this "weekend coup" in the little Kingdom of Lesotho. I just want to go snow skiing there, mesmerising myself with the awe inspiring mountain views.

WAKE UP! That is not going to happen. But I can still dream. Talking about dreamers, Julius' popularity rocketed when he demanded answers from number one in parliament recently. Now security is being beefed up and it looks like parliament will become a shield to number one, in complete contrast to what parliament is supposed to be.

Our health and safety has been at risk of a nuclear disaster with Eskom dragging their heels, for almost four years now, in awarding a glittering R4-billion tender for critical nuclear maintenance at the Koeberg power station. Some senior officials there are increasingly nervous about this delay. Now the Eskom top brass are embroiled in a dispute brough about by an abrupt about turn in the tender process, which saw the tender being diverted at the eleventh hour and awarded to the loser in the bid. I smell fish. Beeeeg fish.

I was going to suggest that Thuli Madonsela should take a peek at this deal, however our poor public protector now needs the public to protect her. Fearing for her life, Thuli stuck her neck out for us and in so doing has illustrated that our young democracy is too infantile to enforce the Public Protector Act that makes it an offence to comply with Thuli's directions. So Thuli has her hands so full that I would not want to burden her with more stress.

Talking about stress, the Gaza, Iraq, Ukraine crisis is really stressing the world out. Recently a voice some would not have expected bellowed from Cuba. Fidel Castro has referred to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as a Nazi SS style organization and blamed the US and Israel for creating ISIS.

So much attention and resource being expended on these wars, and the real danger is the ebola outbreak. While we are bashing the hell out of ourselves, a viral outbreak is threatening to become an international disaster.

We have now managed to take the human out of humanity. The suffering and destruction we are perpetuating upon ourselves, for whatever pathetic reason, is probably the greatest sin mankind can be accused of. I see people taking sides even when they are completely removed from the conflict. We are one, yet we cannot behave like one. So then are we one? Maybe we are two.
