Timeless glamour at The Sunflower Fund Glamorous Charity Ball

Date: 2019-06-07

The 13th Annual Sunflower Fund 'Black & White' Glamourous Charity Ball was a sold out affair which saw 250 guests fill the Great Ilanga Room of Durban's landmark Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel on Friday 24th May. At the helm were prominent sponsors Araujo Attorneys, IBV Gold, Sweidan & Co and Trellidor who joined forces once again to steer yet another successful instalment of this renowned premier event. Some of the indulgent spoils included KWV sparkling wine on arrival, Lindt chocolate as well as photo mementos by ShuttaBug Photo Booth.

The team from Plan Ahead Events & DÈcor, Cheers Hiring & Events and floral artist Carey Lee transported The Great Ilanga Room of the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel back to an era of definitive splendour that was immortalised by the classic Hollywood red carpet look. Executive chef, Shaun Munro, prepared the evening's haute cuisine and Chateau Gateaux's appropriately sculpted 'Cookies & Cream' individual treats were right on point with the 'theme of the night. Other indulgences included an Elizabeth Arden gift per lady.

The Sunflower Fund prides itself in being the premier organisation in Southern Africa to create awareness about the need for blood stem cell donors as well as recruit and maintain a registry of donors committed to helping anyone in need of a life-saving transplant thus giving greater hope of life to patients affected by blood diseases such as leukaemia.
