Girls with Big Hearts
Girls with Big Hearts
For Erin Moyle, a Grade 10 pupil at Crawford La Lucia, it all started with a Life Orientation project involving community service. She had chosen to spend time with the babies and toddlers at The Domino Foundation's Babies' Homes in Durban Northand her heart was caught! It wasn't long before her enthusiasm had spread to her family, friends and classmates and church community. Soon, she was Whatsapping to spread the appeal for funds to support the work of the Babies' Homes. Family friend, Jessica Kalil, in Grade 7 at St Henry's Marist College, was quickly won over and elected to give all of her birthday money to Erin's drive. Between them, the two girls raised over R4500 which will go towards the Babies' Homes programme's providing a safe, loving and nurturing environment for abandoned babies and toddlers before their being adopted into a loving family unit. Said Rowan Phillips, Volunteer Manager at The Domino Foundation, "The girls' enthusiasm to make a difference and their selflessness is a real inspiration."
