Introducing The Honda BR-V

Introducing The Honda BR-V

Author: Dominic Yoko
Date: 2016-10-14
Honda Motors Southern Africa has just extended their range of Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs). The all-new Honda BR-V will expand on their already successful range: until now, Honda has offered the larger CR-V and the mid-size HR-V. The BR-V presents itself to the range as an affordable 7-seater family vehicle.

As the SUV / Crossover trend in the motoring industry continues to grow, Honda has answered the call from consumers for a capable, affordable, fuel-efficient family vehicle. The BR-V range consists of five different models over three grades: Trend, Comfort and Elegance. The Trend line is limited to the six-speed manual gearbox only, whereas Comfort and Elegance models offer the alternative of going for an automatic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox as well as the standard 6-speed manual.

All three derivatives share the revolutionary 1.5L 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine, and safety features include ABS anti-lock brakes, dual front airbags and inertia reel seat belts. The combination of utility, efficiency and affordability make this a viable contender for its category and having tested one out on Monday I came back from Johannesburg with a positive impression.

The new Honda BR-V is something that mom can use to drop the kids off at sports practice and it will fit the whole soccer team and all their kit, but at the same time something dad won't mind driving because of the bold styling, and SUV appeal.

On Saturday the 15th of October Honda Umhlanga will be having a test-drive day, be sure to head on down and bring the kids for some boerewors rolls and cool drinks, and let the new BR-V open your horizons.
