The Kart Wars Continue

The Kart Wars Continue

Date: 2015-08-28
Saturday 28 August sees the sixth round of the Northern Regions Karting Championship with Gauteng's top drivers racing at Vereeniging where you can expect several major attractions at the Vaal kart extravaganza. Not least of those is whether Gauteng's karting ladies can repeat their historic Max Challenge class podium last time out

Championship frontrunners Sandton lass Fabienne Lanz (Formula K) and Ivana Cetinich (Birel) from Waverley, and Shannon Jackson (CRG) who travels up from East London made history last time out to score what is believed to be the first ladies 1-2-3 in a motor race where the girls compete against the guys, anywhere in the world. There will once again be several gentlemen who will want to be in front of the ladies this weekend including CRG trio Juandre Swanson from Centurion, Tylan Witbooi from Bedfordview and Edenvale driver Jarryd Wray.

Other highlights of the day should include Benoni lad Delon Thompson (Birel) working to tighten his 48-point grip on the 125cc high school Junior Max class, but Vereeniging local Joshua Dias (Birel), Midrand lad Cameron O'Connor (Birel), Pretoria youngster Dillon van Vuuren (Kosmic) and Tiago Rebello (Formula K) be out to stem Thompson's championship charge. Sandton's Jordan North (Kosmic) will want to improve his Vortex Junior Rok high school 125cc title advantage over Sandton's Dylan Seely, Luca Munaretto from Boksburg and Michael Pringle

The other side of the scale sees the old school 125 GP karts where Scott Falconer will travel from Pietermaritzburg to take on the likes of, Deon Auby, Richard Fuller, Gerald Fourie, Miguel Dias and Neil Smith fight it out. The program also has a combined race for Clubmans and Super Rok where Wesley Vosloo, Jason Smith, Jason and Luke Hill and Keagan Masters will fight it out.
