Ford Racing Dealer Team Focus ST's driver Gary Formato pulled out all the stops at Aldo Scribante race track in Port Elizabeth last weekend, winning both races and piling up the points.

Formato showed his mettle as a nerves-of-steel racing driver setting the fastest lap times in both races in the Class T Bridgestone Production Car Championship.

He seemed untouchable as he powered his Ford Focus ST ahead of the pack, while Chevrolet driver Michael van Rooyen followed hot on his heels until an oil slick sent him farming off the track and allowing Gary's Team Mate Shaun Duminy to cross the finish line in a one two finish for Ford.

The resultant celebration was short lived when Duminy's ST was found to be producing too much turbo boost in a post race inspection. This opened the window for VW driver and now long time rival Graeme Nathan to slip into second place and gave Lee Thompson third in his Castrol MINI.

In the feature race the gloves were off again and the heat was on. Rookie Ryan Rhode in his Castrol MINI gave Gary Formato his beat shot and followed him home to take second place on the podium. Gary Formato seemed unfazed taking the chequered flag in comfort. That left a battle for third place being contended by Nathan, van Rooyen and Thompson. Thompson's gearbox slowed him down and Nathan and van Rooyen crossed the finish line with under a half of a second between them, only for van Rooyen to suffer the same fate as Duminy with his turbo exceeding the maximum allowed boost. Duminy would have taken fourth position but his turbo was still producing too much pressure and the position went to Smalberger.

Class T Championship Points see Graeme Nathan leading with 72, followed closely by Ford Racing Dealer Team Focus ST's Gary Formato on 55 points. Michael van Rooyen holds out in third place with 50.
