CAPTUR The Attention

CAPTUR The Attention

Author: Tomas Yoko
Date: 2015-07-17
The all-new RENAULT CAPTUR Crossover was mine, all mine, for a whole week. Renault Captur offers three derivatives, all petrol-powered and leading the list is the Dynamique EDC featuring Renault's new generation 1.2 litre 88kW EDC Turbo engine. This was going to be a treat.

At first I was sceptical, a twelve hundred engine, but little did I know that the Dynamique 66kW Turbo and Expression 66kW Turbo, along with the model I was testing, the 1.2 litre 88kW EDC Turbo, were all products of Renault's involvment in Formula 1. These new generation Turbo engines from Renault employ some of the most up to date engine development and technology in the world.

Well driving the new Renault Captur really caught my attention when I pressed hard on the accellerator, thinking I'd need the power to overtake a slow cane truck on the M4. In seconds I was whisked past the truck and I had my flabergasted face on. The way the Captur just leapt to the task was inspirational and I had to leap onto the brakes as the Captur just wanted to keep on accelerating. Power was freely available at really low revs, making the Captur really easy to drive.

The Captur was a really snug fit for me. It had practical cutting edge design, stuffed with safety features in every possible consideration, technology in every corner, Renault really put out a great product here. Add to that the standard 5-year/150 000km mechanical warranty; a 3-year/45 000km service plan and a 6-year anti-corrosion warranty, and you have a bargain.

For a chance to test drive the new Captur, call Renault Ballito on 032 586 3881 or visit Renault Ballito's showroom at 8 Moffat Drive, Ballito and take a Captur for a test drive.
