What's The Issue?

What's The Issue?

Putin is back, everybody was wondering where he could be for the last ten days or so, his reappearance to the public eye sent a sigh of relief through the modern world. And oh what a mess it is in this so-called modern world of ours. Speculation of a love child being born to Putin's supposed girlfriend, Olympic champion gymnast Alina Kabaeva, as well as an illness and even a coup were rife in the modern world's media since Putin snubbed German Chancellor Merkel on the 11th of March.

When the Bush administration sent their troops into Iraq there were no terrorists and now Obama seems to have found a link between the Bush family's wars and the formulation of ISIS. Remember they both had a go at Iraq, senior Bush and Junior Bush, and there was all that cloak and dagger stuff we could not quite put our fingers on and then when they left suddenly there appeared a bunch of terrorists like the world has never seen before.

There is so much information doing the rounds about how CIA funding found its way into the wrong hands and how CIA monies were delivered to Hamas or some other Middle East terror organisation. Well the US Senate is now probing Obommer, who is being fingered for funding an anti Netanyahu campaign. My old friend Ben goes to the poles today and as I write this his party faces the possibility of losing the elections or alternatively winning and becoming the longest standing ruler of Israel.

Back home we are dealing with cavalcades that travel way too fast, even if they are just transporting a local councillor they seem to think that a big black Mercedes-Benz entitles them to travel at speeds way in excess of the legal limit and logical safety. But the real issues we should be addressing are the rumours of girls as young as ten years old being sold into slavery with the finger of blame being pointed at gender inequality being far too socially acceptable.

Once again the US walked out of Bob's speech at the 68th General assembly of the United Nations. They did not agree with Bob calling their sanctions "illegal and filthy" he uttered shame upon them and their British counterparts but did not seem to mention how his country had to import maize from neighbouring Zambia to feed people in the south of his devastated country, who were facing total starvation. Perhaps we could learn from Bob's farming expertise here in South Africa and if in doing so avoid the pitfalls he has highlighted, we may be able to feed our nation. Or we could go about with thumb suck land reforms that completely overlook farmer's needs and our modern worlds economical climates and then we could find ourselves in alignment with uncle Bob.

Well as the AU seems to be losing against the Boko Haram threat and the EU changes its tone over the Ukraine crisis with nervous sightings of Russian Black Hole submarines spotted off the Latvian coast, our modern world seems a little settled this week.
