Ford Faces Frustration

Ford Faces Frustration

Author: Tomas Yoko
Date: 2014-04-05
The Bridgestone Production 2014 Championship screeched into Cape Town over the weekend and delivered another action packed event filled with all the usual thrills and spills and controversy.

Local Racing Driver Shaun Duminy drove a very wide line, holding off archrival Graeme Nathan. Nathan managed to pass Duminy's Ford Dealer Team Focus ST only to become a victim to a late braking move by Duminy in an effort to take back the lead, which saw Duminy collide with Nathan. Nathan's car took a little battering but Duminy's Ford Dealer Team Focus ST suffered some damage, which slowed his pace and saw Duminy fall back into the field to fourth place.

Duminy's team mate Gary Formato was back on form but a miss fire in his Ford Dealer Team Focus ST was holding him back. Try as they might the pit crew could not sort it out and forced him into retirement.

Lee Thompson drove an excellent race to take the black and white cheques. Michael van Rooyen in his Williams Hunt Chevrolet Cruze was battling it out with the leaders when a puncture slowed his pace giving him third while Charl Smalberg gladly took second.

The Bridgestone Production Car action moves to Port Elizabeth's Aldo Scribante circuit on the 3rd of May.
