World Golfers Championship Returns to the North Coast

World Golfers Championship Returns to the North Coast

Date: 2013-10-11
Preparations are in full swing with just a few weeks to go until golfers from all over the world return to Durban's north coast golf courses to compete in the World Final of the 19th Amateur World Golfers Championship. Umhlali Country Club and Prince's Grant Coastal Golf Estate have, for the third consecutive year, been selected by World Golf Events South Africa as hosts, together with Durban Country Club and Cotswold Downs, for this prestigious and largest world amateur golfing event.

In the upcoming World Final more than 300 golfers will from 26 October to 2 November take on the challenges of Umhlali and Princes Grant as they compete within their individual flighting and as a country for the coveted World Golfers Championship titles.

Duard Nel, Assistant General Manager, Umhlali Country Club, said, "We are very excited and privileged to yet again host the World Golfers Championship. Our course will receive some additional tender love and care early in October as we do our Spring Treatment and will be in perfect shape in time for the arrival of our international guests".

Marketing Manager of Prince's Grant Coastal Golf Estate, Mike McNamara added, "We are very proud to share our hospitality and our beautiful golf course with the World Golfers Championship and look forward to another successful event".

"This is a tremendous opportunity for us to showcase to the rest of the world our championship courses on the north coast and our renowned friendly Durban hospitality," said Craig Clay-Smith, spokesperson for World Golf Events South Africa.
