Maserati Charity Yacht Race

Maserati Charity Yacht Race

Date: 2013-06-27
Maserati, along with partners, The Ripple Effect and Intyatyambo Community Project, is proud to announce the inaugural Maserati Charity Yacht Race and Charity Dinner. The event is to take place on the 29th of June 2013 at the Royal Cape Yacht Club in Cape Town.

"Our ambition is simple", says Simon Borchert, Founder of The Ripple Effect and co-founder of the event, "we have always believed in the mobilising of passionate sporting communities to make a difference in their communities by simply doing what you love. Charity should be something to celebrate and be embraced by every individual, not just corporates. We create and support sporting events where the participants are able to contribute to our beneficiaries by participating in sports and with brands they love. The Maserati Charity Yacht Race and Gala Dinner is an epic flagship to add our already successful fund raising efforts".

The event sees a yacht race taking place during the day and a gala dinner in the evening. The clubhouse will play host to the yacht race and prize giving, whilst the regatta centre is being transformed into a stylish and elegant venue - suitable for guests who will attend what promises to become the premier charity dinner on Cape Town's social calendar.

The event has already attracted some of the leading yachts and socialites in Cape Town, providing a great backdrop to MC David Bullard and Auctioneer Joey Burke as they will ensure the auction raises more than the roof on the night. With auction lots including diamond jewellery from Olga Jewellers, holidays from Sun International, Table Bay Hotel, Rovos Rail and artwork from prominent Cape Town artists, the event looks set to be one not to miss.
