Umhlanga offers the best South African tour operators, a wealth of entertainment, restaurants and nature trails, all in a secure environment. The spectacular Gateway shopping centre and Sibaya Casino are some of the key attractions that Umhlanga Rocks has to offer. Ocean enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers will be in their element ; surfing, deep-sea fishing, whale watching and dolphin viewing, scuba diving, kite boarding and microlight flips are just some of the many activities available on this wonderful stretch of coastline. For the serious golfers there are many superb golf courses all within a fiftien minute drive of Umhlanga. Umhlanga is also a paradise for the romantically inclined and many people either tie the knot here or spend their honeymoon here.

Nature and lagoon trails are a must do! Meeting point is at Breakers Resort, situated at the start of the Umhlanga Nature Reserve. A delightful hour and a half trail, wondering through stunning coastal forest and enjoying the thrill of crossing the lagoon on wooden bridges, we crossed the Ohlanga river on its way to the stroll along a breathtaking pristine stretch of coastline. Indigenous trees such as Silver Oaks, Coastal Red Milkwoods and Buffalo Thorn are just a few mentioned. Thereafter we continued until we reached the Ohlanga lagoon, buttressed by dunes. It is home to Vervet Monkey's, small buck and an abundance of butterflies and birds. The remains of a Stone Age seashell midden can also be found near the lagoon.
