"All through my life I've had this strange unaccountable feeling that something was going on in the world, something big, even sinister, and no one would tell me what it was."
"No," said the old man, "that's just perfectly normal paranoia. Everyone in the Universe has that."
~ Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Last week's full moon spun me out completely. There was nothing I could do but just lay low and wait it out. The yellow scary full moon almost drove me wild and at first I did not realise what it was but on Wednesday evening I wanted to howl like a wild beast. But I didn't. Instead I threw a big dinner party and allowed the boozy bubbles to fizzle my anxieties away.
All is well that ends well and it is always good to know that we are not alone in our sensory struggle. When I eventually ventured out I was amazed that there were many other humans who had similar experiences and that made it all ok.
And while hiding in my safe space, keeping the moon rays safely out of reach, I had lots of time for free thinking, reflecting and cogitating. For many months I have been considering freedom and how attainable it is in reality. I have been approaching learned and schooled individuals to help me understand the ramifications of personal freedom and spiritual independence.
It is always great to have another perspective on things, especially things that could alter the path that we are on. As life spins out of orbit and we get dragged into the whirlpool of chaos and drama, it is always great to have a sober minded and abstemious individual who can help us out.
There truly is no helping me though. I'm way past that levelmy issues are too profound to assist, someone told me recently; "You think too much, that is your problem." But what do they know. Since when is thinking too much a problem. Another friend advised me that people who are creative with vivid imaginations are most vulnerable and that I should just accept my fate.
He said, "Creativity is the ability to think outside the box and discover innovative ways to solve problems, rather than staying stuck in them. It is your natural brilliance that springs from your mind being set free. However, creativity can also mean non-conformity to the norms and expectations from the world around you, which can in turn lead to struggle. Freedom isn't free, and venturing beyond the nest of the norm usually has its consequences. You need to examine if the journey is worth it."
I have been thinking about his statement and thinking about the consequences. It has taken my mind off the influential moon, however it has brought about more questions. I guess I will have to wait for the next full moon to get into the freaky zone and solve my life's issues.
I hope you are all staying warm and dry everyone have a fabulous week ahead!
